My name is Heidi Townsend, founder of Townsend Coaching. In 2020, at the height of Covid, I found myself separated after a 12-year marriage, facing the huge challenges we all know too well from those uncertain times. It was a devastating period in my life, and I was in a place I never dreamed I would be; alone in a small rental, homeschooling two young kids, drowning in an extremely emotional divorce, and completely isolated from the world at large. I was determined to not let this huge life change ruin my future. I wanted more than anything to avoid a contentious divorce – mainly for the sake of my young children, but also for our heavily blended community, and my future happiness. The next few years were far from perfect, filled with plenty of low times, but after years of intentional, thoughtful work and dedication to the process I am in an incredibly amicable co-parenting partnership and I have found true freedom and happiness in my life. This process is something I will forever be grateful for.
This transformation from a negative divorce situation to a child and co-parent focused divorce has completely transformed my children’s reality. They do not have to live with constant fighting and contention anymore, and they are thriving because of that simple fact. Even though this transformation required a significant amount of energy, it was worth every single bit of it.
Today, I am thrilled to be in a place of contentment and fulfillment, and I am passionate about helping others create their own story and structure a new reality for themselves and their families. My divorce coaching and mediation education, years of experience assisting others, and the lessons I have learned on my own journey have equipped me to guide you through the separation and divorce process with empathy, strategic planning, and a focus on positive outcomes.
